The Coggon City Council has signed a contract with Com Link to provide high speed wireless internet to their community. Coggon's city leaders have been trying to insure the availability of high speed internet for a couple years, and have tried a number of providers. Com Link will be pulling signal off of City Hall to disperse signal across town, and Coggon's water tower to disperse across the rural area surrounding Coggon. Pricing is yet uncertain as we engineer the best deployment.

Coggon is one of many smaller towns across the Midwest that has lacked the sort of programmatic attention it would like from either incumbent telcos or cable companies, but due to it being small, gets none. It falls to independent ISPs (internet service providers) to try and fill the holes the behemoths leave in their wake. As mentioned above, we will bring two basic deployments to Coggon - in town and rural.

In Town

We plan on delivering a mesh deployment of radios in the community of Coggon that will basically make the entirety of Coggon a hotspot. Access will be by ID and password, and activity on the web is encrypted. Pricing has yet to be determined because engineering is not yet complete.

Rural Coggon/North Linn School District

For homes, farms and businesses outside of town, Com Link will be offering service off the Coggon water tower. The wireless service will require a receiver module (subscriber unit) to be mounted somewhere on the property of the end-user. The property owner/renter does not need to buy the receiver, as Com Link retains ownership. Pricing differential between in-town and rural reflects the costs of the receiver used in the outlying areas.
